Ayrshare pricing explained, and the Ayrshare alternative for each budget

By Antoine Blanco··8 min read

Ayrshare pricing starts at $149 a month for one profile of up to 14 accounts, then $299 and $599 for ten and thirty profiles. Whether that is expensive depends on how your accounts group into profiles. Below: the full grid, the arithmetic against a per-account plan, and eight alternatives. Prices read on their own pages on September 11, 2026.

What Ayrshare costs in September 2026

From ayrshare.com/pricing, checked today:

Plan Price per month Social profiles Accounts covered Notable
Premium $149 1 Up to 14 across 14 networks Post, schedule, basic analytics, moderation, custom branding
Launch $299 Up to 10 Up to 140 Historical content, advanced analytics, expanded rate limits, webhooks, 28-day free trial
Business From $599 30 included, tiering to 300 Up to 420 Extra profiles at $8.99 (31 to 100), $3.49 (101 to 500), $2.49 (500+)
Enterprise Custom From 300 Volume based Max Pack included, dedicated support, compliance

Two add-ons sit on top of Launch and Business: the Max Pack at $300 a month and Ads at $100 a month.

Note what is not on that list: there is no entry plan under $149, and the 28-day trial is attached to Launch, not to Premium. If you were hoping to test the API for $20, that is not the shape of this product.

What a social profile is, and why it decides your bill

This is the one thing to understand before comparing anything. Ayrshare does not meter connected accounts. It meters profiles, and a profile is one end user of your app, holding up to 14 social accounts across the 14 supported networks.

So the same 140 accounts cost very differently depending on how they cluster:

Same account count, at least a 3x difference in the bill. If you are a platform onboarding many users who each connect one or two accounts, the profile meter is the expensive direction. If you are an agency running a handful of clients with a full stack of networks each, it is the cheap direction.

Ayrshare API and MCP: what the price includes

Ayrshare is a real unified API, and the docs list posts, analytics, comments, messaging and ads endpoints across 14 networks: Bluesky, Facebook, Google Business, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, Snapchat, Telegram, Threads, TikTok, WhatsApp, X and YouTube. The messaging API covers Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and X; the ads API covers Facebook only.

There are two MCP servers, which is a detail people get wrong. The documentation MCP at https://www.ayrshare.com/docs/mcp is explicit: "This is the read-only Documentation MCP (it searches Ayrshare's API docs)." The one that acts is the Action MCP at https://api.ayrshare.com/mcp, 27 tools over Streamable HTTP, covering publishing, validation, history, analytics, comments, messages, profiles and media.

On limits, Ayrshare's help centre says it does not add its own per-plan quotas: posts and calls are "subject to Ayrshare's fair use policy", with the networks' own ceilings applying. Those ceilings are collected in the social media API rate limits reference.

Where Ayrshare is worth $149 a month

I am not going to pretend the incumbent is a bad product. Buy Ayrshare when:

Buy something else when your accounts do not pack into profiles, when $149 is more than your whole tooling budget, or when the agent needs to read and answer as much as it publishes.

Eight Ayrshare alternatives, compared on the meter

Entry prices read on each vendor's pricing page on September 11, 2026.

Tool Entry price What the price meters API access Read and reply Agent access
Ayrshare $149 Social profiles All plans DMs, comments, reviews Action MCP, 27 tools
PlugKit $29 for 5 accounts, $97 for 30 Connected accounts All plans Unified inbox, comments, comment-to-DM Hosted MCP, over 100 tools
Zernio 2 accounts at no charge, then $6 each Connected accounts, graduated Every account, free or paid Inbox included API on every account
Postiz $29 for 5 channels, $99 for 100 Channels All plans No inbox REST API, self-hostable
Blotato $29 for 20 accounts, $97 for 40 Accounts Paid plans only, not in the trial Not documented on the pricing page REST API
Upload-Post Free for 2 profiles, Basic $24 for 5 Profiles Paid plans, not on the free plan Publishing focused REST API
Post Bridge $29 for 5 accounts, $99 unlimited Connected accounts Add-on from the $39 plan Publishing focused REST API add-on
Mixpost Lite free, Pro $299 one time One-time licence, self-hosted Pro and Enterprise only Publishing focused Self-hosted API
bundle.social Free for 3 accounts, Pro $100 Accounts, unlimited on paid All plans Publishing focused REST API

Mixpost is the odd one and worth a second look: $299 paid once, unlimited accounts, unlimited team members, on your own server. If your objection to Ayrshare is the recurring bill rather than the model, that is the honest answer, and the cost moves to hosting and maintenance instead.

The arithmetic against a per-account plan

PlugKit meters connected accounts: $29 a month for 5, $97 for 30, then $3 an account from 31 to 100 and $1.50 beyond, per the billing documentation checked today. Ayrshare meters profiles. Comparing them means fixing a scenario, so here it is at full profile utilisation, which is the case most favourable to Ayrshare:

Scenario Accounts Ayrshare PlugKit
One brand, 5 networks 5 $149 (Premium) $29
One brand, every network 14 $149 (Premium) $97
10 clients, 14 accounts each 140 $299 (Launch) $367
30 clients, 14 accounts each 420 From $599 (Business) $787

The turn sits near 97 connected accounts: below that a per-account plan is cheaper than Launch, above it Ayrshare's bundle wins, as long as those accounts really do group into ten profiles. Spread the same 97 accounts across 50 end users and Launch no longer fits, Business at $599 does, and the arithmetic flips back.

Two more lines belong in any honest total. X bills per call on both sides: PlugKit passes X's rate through at $0.005 a read, $0.015 a publish and $0.200 for a post containing a URL, with no markup. And PlugKit covers 8 platforms, not 14: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X, WhatsApp and Telegram. If you need Pinterest or Reddit, the price comparison is academic.

Which alternative for which situation

The wider landscape, platform APIs included, is in the 2026 social media API guide, and the per-account comparison against the other metered vendor is in the Zernio alternative.

FAQ

How much does Ayrshare cost?

$149 a month for Premium, which covers one social profile with up to 14 social accounts. Launch is $299 a month for up to 10 profiles, Business starts at $599 for 30 profiles, and Enterprise is custom from 300 profiles. Extra profiles on Business run $8.99 each between 31 and 100, $3.49 between 101 and 500, and $2.49 above that. Checked on the Ayrshare pricing page on September 11, 2026.

Does Ayrshare have a free plan?

No. The lowest self-serve plan is Premium at $149 a month. There is a 28-day free trial, attached to the Launch plan at $299, not to Premium. Alternatives with a free starting point exist: bundle.social gives 3 accounts, Upload-Post gives 2 profiles and 10 uploads a month, Zernio does not charge for the first 2 connected accounts.

Is there a cheaper Ayrshare alternative with the same API?

Cheaper, yes, identical, no. PlugKit is $29 a month for 5 connected accounts with the inbox and comment-to-DM automations included, Postiz starts at $29 for 5 channels with an API on every plan, and Post Bridge starts at $29. None of them covers all 14 networks that Ayrshare covers, so compare your required platforms first and the price second.

What is a social profile in Ayrshare pricing?

One end user of your application, holding up to 14 social accounts across the supported networks. Your bill is the number of profiles, not the number of accounts, which is why 140 accounts can cost $299 or more than $980 depending on how they are grouped.

Does Ayrshare have an MCP server for AI agents?

Two. The documentation MCP at https://www.ayrshare.com/docs/mcp is read-only and searches the API docs. The Action MCP at https://api.ayrshare.com/mcp exposes 27 tools over Streamable HTTP for publishing, analytics, comments, messages, profiles and media. For comparison, PlugKit hosts over 100 tools at https://api.plugkit.co/mcp, added with claude mcp add -t http plugkit https://api.plugkit.co/mcp, at $29 a month for 5 connected accounts, cancel anytime.
